Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM Lens

The EF 35mm f/2 IS USM wide-angle lens features an optical design of 10 lens elements in 8 groups. With the incorporation of a high-precision Glass-Molded (GMo) Aspherical lens element, it guarantees high image quality across the whole frame through effective correction of various aberrations, including curvature of field. In addition, it features 8-blade circular aperture capable of producing beautiful out-of-focus images. Optimized lens coatings for digital cameras are applied to ensure excellent color balance and minimize ghosting and flare.

The lens is incorporated with a compact optical Image Stabilizer (IS) to provide effective shake compensation up to 4-stop shutter speed for sharp image and clarity. In addition, Canon’s advanced IS technology can distinguish between normal shooting and panning and switch to the optimal IS mode automatically, helping users capture movement with greater accuracy. Coupled with the lens’ f/2 large aperture that allows photographers to explore shallow depth of field or to shoot handheld in low-light conditions with a faster shutter speed, the lens is ideal for capturing fast-moving subjects and turning motions into stunningly sharp images.

The lens include a ring-type USM (Ultrasonic Motor), in line with their compact designs, and additional features such as high speed CPU and optimized auto-focusing (AF) algorithm for silent and high speed AF performance. For enhanced operational flexibility, full-time manual focusing is supported to ensure adjustments can be made even when AF is engaged. The EF 35mm f/2 IS USM offers a minimum focusing distance of 0.20m, allowing photographers to get even closer to smaller or more detailed subjects for more imaging possibilities.
