Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN II Art Lens for Sony E-Mount
The Sigma AF 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN Art Lens MK II is a versatile and high-performance lens that has been developed to incorporate the most advanced technologies allowing the MK II to offer an improved resolving power thanks to its functional enhancement. This includes an aperture ring and high-speed AF. The newly redesigned AF motor and High-response Linear Actuator (HLA), are all within an approximately 7% smaller and 10% lighter lens body than the Mark I.
The Sigma AF 24-70mm f2.8 has an optical design that features 6 FLD glass elements, 2 SLD glass elements and 5 aspherical lens elements. This construction helps to suppress various aberrations throughout the entire zoom range. Achieve consistently high resolution all the way to the periphery of the image, and produce beautifully rendered images, free from colour fringing.
The Sigma 24-70mm lens incorporates 5 aspherical lenses which enable both high optical performance with minimal aberration correction and a compact optical design.
The minimum focusing distance for this lens is an astonishing 17cm (6.7in) at the wide eds and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7. Perfect for shooting in tight spaces and when composing close-up shots.
Nano-porous coating and super multi-layer coating have been applied to the Sigma 24-70mm to help suppress fare and ghosting, while the high backlight resistance enables clear and sharp images under any lighting conditions.
Focus breathing has been suppressed thanks to the optical design, the change in angle-of-view due to focus shift is minimised across the entire zoom range, helping to create a natural-looking focus pull when recording.
Maintaining Sigma's renowned build quality the Sigma AF 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN Art MKII lens features improved usability in an uncompromisingly precise and robust construction. The addition of the aperture ring and two AFL buttons allows for a more ergonomic experience when handheld shooting.
The aperture ring also features an aperture ring click switch and an aperture ring lock switch, allowing you to operate the aperture smoothly and silently when filming. The two AFL buttons have been positioned for optimal functionality when shooting in both landscape and vertical orientation.
A more efficient mechanical design has resulted in this Mark II lens being a highly portable lens body with a maximum diameter of 87.8mm (3.5in) and a length of 120mm (4.7in).
A robust internal structure ensures this lens's longevity and reliability thanks to the use of metal parts for the zoom extension as well as the operating ring.
The Sigma 24-70mm lens features a dust and splash-resistant structure along with a water and oil-repellent coating and zoom lock switch.
The maximum drive speed of the Sigma 24-70mm Mark II is three times faster than the previous model thanks to the high output HLA in the new linear motor.
A zoom lock switch has been integrated into the lens design to lock the lens in place and prevent the barrel from extending unintentionally under its own weight. The lock can be released by the switch and also via zoom operation, ideal for flexible handling.
