Tamron 50-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD (A069S) Lens for Sony E
The Tamron 50-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD Sony FE is an incredibly versatile lens that offers outstanding image quality throughout its zoom length. The lens comes equipped with a VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism for quiet and accurate auto-focus as well as a VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilisation mechanism while measuring just 150 mm and weighing in at a mere 665g.
The lens even has a MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of just 22 cm at the 50mm end allowing for half-macro work giving you the option to shoot a wide range of photographic styles with just one lens.
Tamron designed the 50-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD in response to feedback from users who wanted to "zoom out just a little more” than a standard 70-300mm lens. Starting at 50mm instead, the lens offers a 6x zoom while measuring just 150 mm and weighing in at a mere 665g.
The Tamron 50-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD offers uncompromised optical performance throughout the entirety of the zoom range. The lens is made up of 19 elements in 14 groups, including two XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) and two LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements to control chromatic and other aberrations. Ghosting and flare have also been minimised thanks to Tamron’s BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) Coating.
The lens comes equipped with a VXD linear motor focus mechanism for precise focusing from MOD to infinity along with outstanding tracking performance ensuring that you always get the shot. The motor is also near-silent making this a perfect lens for videographers as well as photographers.
The 50-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD has a minimum object distance of just 22 cm at the 50mm end of the lens with a magnification ratio of 1:2 allowing you to get up close to your subject for half-macro photography.
The 300mm end of the lens offers an impressive MOD of 90 cm and a magnification ratio of 1:3.1.
The Tamron 50-300mm is also a great choice for low-light shooting thanks to its VC6 mechanism that suppresses camera shake that tends to occur when shooting in the telephoto range. This also allows the user to dial in slower shutter speeds to aid in low-light conditions.
Keep the Tamron 50-300mm up to date with the latest firmware thanks to the TAMRON Lens Utility Software. Enabling you to easily update the lens without the camera.
The lens features 9 circular aperture blades, to produce beautiful bokeh and a 67mm filter size which is the same as many other Tamron lenses, allowing you to use the same size filters or adapter rings on all your lenses. The lens is also Moisture-Resistant and features Fluorine Coating.
